Storm Redesign

This is an image that was part of a redesign for the X-men's Storm character. I paired her down to a practical and believable version and I wanted to play up where she comes from and history told by her appearance. This particular page sought to draw attention to one of her only known props that was unique to her--a gem that she had worn that is featured sometimes in her costume designs but it actually played a role in a story arc before. I very much enjoyed channeling some color for a moment and the vibrance was unexpected. I'd never worked with those particular pencils before and I was afterward very pleased with their pigment quality.
